The two largest cruise ships in the world

These two sister ships of the Oasis class and owned by Royal Caribbean International hold the honor of being the largest passenger ships in the world. They were built by STX Europe for its shipyards in Turku, Finland. The Oasis of the Seas held its inaugural voyage in December 2009, while his twin THE ALLURE OF THE SEA entered service a year later.

Both ships have a length of 361.8 meters, a maximum width of 60.5 meters and 9.3 meters draft of 9.3 m. These huge ships are powered by diesel eight engines that allow  to reach a maximum speed of 22.6 knots (41.8 km / h). Each ship has 2,706 cabins and can accommodate 6,296 passengers and, among other facilities, has an amphitheater, five pools, climbing walls, mini-golf, nightclubs and casinos.
